Barbados is the eastern most island in the Lower Antilles and the last southern island before the Grenadines. The capital city of this 'Kings' English speaking island is Kingstown.
This island is not volcanic and the interior of the island is gentle rolling plains similar to northern Missouri. The northern beaches on the Atlantic side are back by hundred foot cliffs and accessible only through footpaths. Crane Beach Hotel is a beautiful place on the northern shore with steps down to the secluded beach. The southern beaches are nice, but all the coral has been destroyed by hurricanes, making snorkeling boring. There are water sports available, such as jet skis and para-sailing.
